Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Dr. Brian J. Egan is a board-certified OB/GYN who has been practicing in the Joliet area since 1996.
A lifelong resident of the Joliet area, Dr. Egan is a graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery and received his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Egan is a board-certified diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG) and a diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. He is also a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetrics and Gynecologists (FACOOG).
An essential part of the team of obstetrician-gynecologists who care for women at Joliet Women’s Health Center, Dr. Egan provides obstetrical, gynecological, and well-woman care to women of all ages. He counsels women who are planning to become pregnant and treats complex gynecological problems. His clinical interests include advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, menopausal disorders, and pregnancy-related disorders.
Dr. Egan is a clinical instructor in OB/GYN for Midwestern University, and he has served as a clinical examiner for the AOBOG for more than 15 years. He has been nominated several times for Physician of the Year and currently serves as Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.
Dr. Egan’s training as an osteopathic physician lends itself well to the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology. The main emphasis is a patient-centered, holistic approach that takes into account all aspects of a woman’s health, as well as her emotional and spiritual needs.
