Have you been considering a chemical peel? Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center, gives an overview of the skincare procedure.
What is a chemical peel?
During the treatment, a chemical solution is used to resurface the skin by removing the top, damaged layers.“The fall is a great time to get peels done especially for individuals who spent a lot of time in the sun in the summer,” Malinowski said. “We can get rid of all the hyperpigmentation as well as slough off all the dead skin cells.”What are the different types of chemical peels?Eterna offers two brands: Obagi and Glytone.
“The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel is a light salicylic and lactic peel,” Malinowski said. “This peel works great for individuals who have acne as well as those who just want to brighten up the complexion.”
The Glytone line offers a variety of peels. Glytone’s Glycolic Acid peel, for instance, comes in varying strengths of 30%, 50%, and 70% glycolic acid.
