During the removal procedure, a laser targets the hair follicles. There are two types of modalities that we use. The Clearscan Laser which can be used for all skin types and the BBL which is only for skin types I-III . The BBL is a Broad Band Light. Patients' skin is rapidly treated and hundreds of hair follicles can be disabled in less than one second.
“Laser hair reduction gets rid of most of the hair follicles,” Malinowski said. “If you’re waxing or tweezing that is an ongoing process and can be annoying.”

How long does the treatment last?
“Laser hair reduction lasts as long as there isn't any new hair growth,” Malinowski said. “By that, I mean new hair growth can come hormonally later on in life or from complications with your hormones. The hair bulbs that were killed by the laser won't grow back but new hair growth can come.”
Hair growth takes place in cycles of growth and resting phases. Because only actively growing hair can be removed at each treatment session, several treatment sessions will be necessary.
In the long-run, said Malinowski, laser hair removal is cheaper than waxing.
“And you can pretty much get a really good reduction in your hair growth,” she said.
