When is the last time you had a facial? If it’s been more than a few months then it has been too long.
That’s because getting facials on a regular basis can yield many anti-aging benefits.
“Those that come in regularly start improving their skin and generally get their skin healthy,” said Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center.
The multi-step skin treatment includes cleansing, exfoliating and steaming the skin, as well as an extraction to clear clogged pores. Then a mask is applied, followed by a hydrating serum and moisturizer.
Eterna offers a full menu of facial offerings.
“Your esthetician can guide you as to which will be more beneficial to your skin,” Malinowski said.
For instance, younger clients battling acne can get a facial that exfoliates without irritation.
“And we can clean pores out to prevent future breakouts and lead you into a good regimen of products that will help to clear up your acne,” Malinowski said.
Eterna’s Brightening Facial is geared toward those individuals who have hyperpigmentation, while the anti-aging O² Lift Facial provides skin rejuvenation.
“During the facial, your esthetician can evaluate your skin and see what’s going on,” Malinowski said. “Products are used that target whatever issues you are having with your skin.”
The esthetician may also recommend other treatments to help fight off skin aging, such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion or a HydraFacial, which cleanses, exfoliates and extracts while also infusing vital nutrients like antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid.
Malinowski recommends getting facials every four to six weeks.
“You can do a consult with your esthetician to set up a good plan to get you the results you want to achieve,” she said.
