Brazilian wax key to long-term smooth skin
Want to get rid of the hair down there?
Ditch the razor and let a Brazilian wax do the trick.
While the popular hair removal method may not be the most pleasant experience, waxing does have longer-lasting effects than shaving.
And the process of going bare in the nether regions gets easier, according to Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center.
“My clients that do it on a regular basis say the pain lessens each time they wax,” she said.
Clients can prepare for the spa treatment by making sure pubic hair is no longer than a 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch.
“If it is too short the wax will not be able to grip the hair follicle,” Malinowski said.
During the procedure, a zinc oxide wax is used for the outer area, which means less irritation and redness, Malinowski said.
A hard wax is used for lifting the hair in the more sensitive inner region.
While the effects of shaving may only last for a few days, waxing can last about six weeks.
“This is not to say that someone can’t go longer or shorter,” Malinowski said. “It really depends on the person’s hair growth.”
Clients may experience some redness after the procedure. Other than that, they can enjoy their smooth, hair-free skin for weeks at a time.
